Welcome

Thank you for stopping by! As I write this, I cannot believe that we are facing a New Year, 2014. Just the sound of it is perfection to me. Whenever a year is winding down, I am so ready to start fresh and look ahead to what the next year holds. Knowing from previous years, I am sure that the year ahead will hold much laughter, tears, challenges, adventures and love…and I can’t wait to get started on this year!

2013 held a big move for Jamie and I. We took a huge leap and decided to move from the comfort of our cute little home, steady jobs, warmer climate…and move to Chicago. Cold, cold, cold, Chicago. Did I mention it was cold? I have seen more negative degree days in the past few weeks than I ever cared to see in my life. But we came “back” to this area to be near family. We have 6 nieces and nephews (almost 7!) in the area, and almost all of my immediate family is in this area. Jamie has extended family nearby too, so we hope to stay connected with both sides.

For the past 10 years I have been focusing on Wedding Photography. I love the romance of weddings, the couples that I meet and the joy that I get to share with my clients as they go through the wedding planning process. In the natural progression of life, I would photograph weddings, and then see those clients again when they started their families. When I started photographing newborns 5 years ago, I was quite intimidated, and it has been a long road of learning. But I have fallen in love with newborn photography, and it has become a passion of mine. Throughout 2013 I gave great consideration to having newborn photography as the focus of my business, and decided that 2014 would be the year that I would make it happen. I am so excited to share my journey with you, and to introduce you to the babies and families that I have the privilege of meeting this year and in the years ahead.
