This cute little guy happens to be my nephew! Over the last 7 years I have so enjoyed watching our immediate family grow and expand. I still remember the wild excitement when our first nephew was born. We loved on him and spoiled him like crazy. Each niece or nephew that has arrived after the first has been so loved and I hope they feel just as spoiled. I take my auntie duties very seriously!
I definitely find it easier to spoil the nieces and nephew who live in the same State as we do, but Jamie and I really enjoy loving on the nieces and nephew on his side of the family that don’t live as close. Just last weekend we hosted 15 members of Jamie’s family at our house, all in town for a family wedding. I love opening our home to guests, but I think 15 people had me a little overwhelmed, and all I could think about was “I don’t have 15 pillows!!!” Needless to say, we made it through the weekend, with plenty of pillows and all.
Back to little Dylan. My brother (Dylan’s daddy) was so hoping for a boy. They have a 3 year old (ADORABLE!) little girl, but are quite covered up in girly things. They decided to be surprised at birth by the gender, and when Dylan popped out….my brother had his boy!
It’s a funny thing, watching your little brother be a dad. The same brother whom I doted on as a baby. Helped change diapers, change him, dress him up, torture him 😉 Every picture I see of Dylan, all I can see is my brothers squishy little baby face from so many years ago. Gosh I loved that little baby boy. Of course he is all grown up now, and I was reminding my sister the other day of how sad we were when that sweet little boy grew up. Not because we lost him in any way, but those squishy cheeks, the way he couldn’t say words with y and would run around the house yelling “lellow! lellow!”…he was just so darn cute (still is!). I am so thankful for my brother and the man he has become, a loving and giving husband, a caring father and a great friend and brother. I am so happy that he found a wonderful girl to be his wife, we love her so much. And my goodness, they make cute babies!!
Welcome sweet baby Dylan! Auntie Joy LOVES you so much and can’t wait to watch you grow.
Dylan and I at the end of his session. Doll baby!
