Abigail | Chicago Newborn Photographer

When I photographed Abigail last year, I was so excited to meet her, because she was born on my birthday. I had been waiting to hear from her momma on her arrival, and when I woke up on my birthday, I thought that today would be a great day for a sweet little girl to be born! I am sure my parent’s thought the same thing, 31 years ago.

Abigail’s session was one of my favorites from 2013, as I had photographed her brother a few years earlier, and I had kept up with the family since. I love seeing previous clients return, and when they add to their family it is so special to be able to photograph the new addition.

For her session, I worked to incorporate hand knitted lace wraps that I had been creating. I love the lavender color, and adding the gray headband. Simplicity in images is always a favorite style of mine, but when I have the chance to add in simple hand knitted items, I try to keep it natural. I also tried out the “kelly green” pants that I just knitted up. What do you think? Knitted baby pants are hard to create! I’ve been working on perfecting them all year. Still not quite satisfied with my pattern…but I will keep at it.
